Data Loss Protection (DLP)

Overview

Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies can be used to prevent sharing sensitive information outside the organisation or with people in other departments who should not have access. DLP policies are made up of conditions to match, actions to take depending on the number of matches, notifications, reports and whether end users can override a policy. Policy tips in email or documents can identify that a policy will be matched, and allow changes to be made prior to sending an email or document.

Outcomes

  • Prevent unauthorised sharing of sensitive information
  • Inform people before they unintentionally share data outside the company
  • Centralised dashboard to track matches, false positives and identify policy changes required
